WANDERLUST
Posted on May 22nd, 2012
Even though it’s just been a few weeks since my trip to Paris, Wanderlust strikes me frequently these days. I miss the sea, specifically the Mediterranean Sea. I constantly catch myself watching videos like the one Markus and Sarah just released on Finding Berlin or clips from Pierrot Le Fou and Bonjour Tristesse. I remember childhood vacations on Menorca or Sardinia. The endless days by the beach, the hours that were spend reading books, walking by the shore and just swimming or diving around in the azure sea. Not computers, no mobile phones to distract you from the essentials: sand, sun, salt water and the smell of sun screen.
Sometimes I wish Berlin was located closer to the sea, so we could go and spend days on the beach instead of the park, we could go swimming and hang out on the beach, maybe we would smile even more. They say the blue of the sea stimulates your creativity and at the same time it makes you very calm.
Since that feeling did not leave me anymore I took measures and just booked a trip to Menorca. Just four days at a random hotel in walking distance from the beach. I will leave the MacBook at home, bring an analogue camera only and a walkman with beach tunes.
I set up a Spotify playlist and want to ask you to contribute songs you consider perfect songs for a trip to the Mediterranean. Looking forward to your suggestions!

Yeah, I really miss the sea too – it’s not that close from Cologne though it’s always a good reason to visit the Netherlands and drink some coffee and eat chips and waffles.
Best wanderlust-song ever: FM Belfast – Par avion. Doesn’t matter that the Mediterranean isn’t the Caribbean. ;)
