It’s almost a month since I came back from Sydney and just as the last three days I was spending doing last things in Sydney, telling you about these lasts, is the most challenging. I miss summer, the smell of the sea and the city dearly. Berlin is still cold and grey and we are all hoping it will get spring soon.
Back to Sydney: I started feeling restless when day #23 came. There was so much I still liked to do, so I almost felt like doing nothing at all. However what ensued were three perfect days, spent wandering through Surrey Hills, Glebe, Chippendale and Ultimo. There was the hottest day of 2013 in Sydney since they started measuring temperatures in Australia in 1939, 46°C, that was spent at one of the best beach spots in Coogee, followed a wonderful evening with Maria and Will, drinking an aperitivo at a beautiful bar called Love Tilly Divine, eating dinner at Fratelli Fresh and having ice cream at the fantastic Gelato Messina. There was a visit to Eveleigh Markets, as well as silent goodbyes to the sun, the sea and the promise to come back.
This won’t be the last you hear about and see of Sydney, there are some developed rolls of film waiting to be posted and there are still some more stories to tell, but I will keep these to myself for a little while longer. I hope you will bear with me.
