Oh, the pleasure of reading! Isn’t it the best past-time ever? But while I love reading, I seem to love buying books even more. To me, there is no better remedy after a stressful day than to unwind by visiting a bookstore. I love spending time in bookstores and never leave empty handed. It’s my kind of retail therapy. So, our shelf is full and there are books piling up in many corners of our home. But obviously, I have not read every book I own. I guess I am not alone in this, as in the Japanese language there is even a word for this phenomenon:

“Tsundoku” – the act of buying a book and leaving it unread, often piled together with other unread books.
So, my plan for this year is to read more of the books that have patiently waited on the shelf for quite a while now, as well as some books I started but never finished. Also, looking at the selection below you might realise that current political and societal developments, had quite an impact on this selection. I added some books by Japanese authors for a little bit of escapism into a different world.
