The last week went by like a whirlwind. Let’s start with last Sunday when I met friends and we actually sat in the sun while sipping our coffees and rhubarb lemonades. It felt like spring already and now that all of the snow is gone, I cannot wait till winter is over. We talked about all sorts of things and it truly was a Sunday well spent.
Monday evening we had tickets for a reading of Jonathan Safran Foer. The room was packed and he was brilliant. I had not read ‘Here I Am’ before the reading, but now I am very intrigued and will have to read it at some point. On Tuesday, we saw the Flaming Lips live – a perfect evening of escapism from all the things happening in the world right now. All the confetti, balloons and neon lights put a smile on my face for the rest of the night.
Then towards the second half of the week, Migraine hit. Bummer. You can read all about that in my blog post from Friday. But as the weekend approached and after a great Pizza evening with friends, I started to feel much better.
On Saturday, my sister came for a visit and we had a splendid time. We ate breakfast at beautiful Maison Blunt, went to a thrift store and did some more shopping. She finally met Fitzi and after dinner, we went to a club. I haven’t been out dancing in ages and it was a lot of fun. Today, we had coffee and then went on a walk to one of my favourite places in Zurich, the succulent collection. I took many pictures – as per usual – and bought another cactus for our collection. Now my sis is on the train back home and I am looking forward to taking a bath and spending a quite afternoon/evening reading.
All in all, it’s been a great week, despite the stupid headaches.
5 Things From Last Week
Owl Blog – Emma’s beautiful blog containing great, Japan-inspired recipes alongside beautiful photographs. I will definitely try out her recipe for cooking the perfect rice and the simple miso soup, whilst I am looking forward to more recipe and photographs to come.
Tearjerker – When musicians like Chilly Gonzales and Jarvis Cocker collaborate, the result has to be amazing. The first release from their album will give you a taste of what it will sound like and I cannot wait until the release of ‘Room 29’ in March.
The Crown – Recently, I have had a hard time to find a TV show I could really invest myself in. One does not only serve as light entertainment. But then came The Crown and I am hooked. It’s beautifully produced and three episodes in, I can already recommend it with all my heart.
Ten Meter Tower – This was all over the internet in the past week, but if you haven’t seen this video of people attempting to jump off a ten-metre diving platform yet, go ahead and do it. It’s fun!
