The Côte d’Azur had been one of my favourite parts of Europe since my first visit four years ago. While we have been going back a few times since then, the boyfriend and I both started missing this place, so we decided that a trip down south would be the perfect way to say farewell to summer. So on a long weekend in September we packed our bags, refreshed our holiday playlist and jumped into the car. Our destination: The Hôtel Les Roches Rouges.
I would be lying if I did not admit that it wasn’t the intense coverage of the hotel on Instagram during the summer months that inspired me to go there. So, congratulations to the team of Les Roches Rouges – your Influencer strategy worked. I am a far cry from an Influencer, so obviously we had to pay for the stay ourselves. But, I do have to say that the place is worth a visit: the location right by the sea is brilliant, the menu and wine list are great, there is an abundance of sunbeds, the service is laid-back but courteous, and the beds are the comfiest I have ever slept in. Also, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean is something I already miss. Just like the morning swims in the rock pool, when the water was still warmer than the air, and the sun was slowly appearing behind the rocks of the Massif d’Esterel.
You can also book Spa treatments, there are yoga courses, movie nights, petanque lessons and borrow a kayak or paddle boards – but in the end, all we did was lie by the pool, go for swims, read, drink rosé, nibble on delicious food and relax. I think I have never been on a lazier vacation in my life. It was wonderful!
But, I also took heaps of pictures. The architecture and interior design is so flawless and adapts so perfectly to the hotel’s surroundings that it is exceptionally easy to take great pictures inside and outside of the hotel. So, let me take you along on a September weekend at Hôtel Les Roches Rouges:
