Christer Strömholm Retrospektive . C/O Berlin

Posted on February 24th, 2013

A young couple in a Parisian café in the 1960s and a portrait of Le Cobusier. These werde my two favorites in the very stunning Christer Strömholm Retrospektive at C/O Berlin. It’s the last exhibition hosted in the old Postfuhramt, a place I always loved to visit to see some great photographs while moving through rooms breathing old Berlin history. I will miss the building dearly and their move breaks my heart. You will still have the chance to see the exhibit and pay the building a last visit till the 8th of March, before it will be renovated and repurposed. C/O Berlin will reopen at their new location, the Amerika Haus, in autumn 2013.

C/O Book Days – Internet is the new artist book.

Posted on May 27th, 2012

I love photo books. Who does not enjoy skipping through pages and pages of great imagery, preferably printed on large, pages exuding the smell of high quality ink and paper. Who would say no to storing photo book after photo book on their shelves, coffee tables or bedroom floors. It’s like taking an exhibition or maybe even the whole life’s work of an artist to your home, storing, viewing and exhibiting it at a place where you feel the most comfortable.   This being said, I was thrilled to head to the Book Days at C/O yesterday. I skipped through pages of amazing books, wanting to buy (but not carry) them all. It’s interesting to see in which ways photos can be represented…
