Autumn Kitchen #2

Most Sundays, while lying in bed and having a cup of tea to wake up, I think about breakfast. In my head I review the ingredients in the kitchen and start making a plan. Today I decided to make a very simple fruit salad from apples and mandarines, seasoning it with some lime juice and honey. Well, that’s far from spectacular, yet. In our kitchen cabinet I found a jar of oats and remembered the very easy but amazing oat brittle my parents used to make on autumn or winter afternoons. Just some oats, roasted and caramelized in a good amount of sugar. I added a handful of nuts and some dried figs to that mix and ended up with a very delicious, sweet and crunchy bliss, completing the freshness of the fruits. Yum.
