Autumn Kitchen #3


Autumn is apple season and since my little oat brittle endeavor, I could not stop thinking about an apple crumble with almond and nut brittle on top. I peeled and cooked the apples with a good amount of cinnamon before putting them in to a casserole. I covered up the whole thing with a simple shortcrust that I spiced up with some cardamon. I roasted two handfuls of chopped nuts and almonds with a few tablespoons of sugar in a pan and added that atop the shortcrust. The whole thing went into the oven until it was cooking nicely and the crust started turning into a beautiful dark brown. Eat it while it is still warm! So delicious and depending on the butter you choose, even vegan!
