The end of 2017 is drawing closer, and I took the past weeks to come up with a few habits I want to kick and things I want to change in 2018. Let’s see if these go better than this year’s resolution to do more sports – you can find out more about how that went down below, too.
I love to write, but I feel like I am saying the same things over and over again and that all my sentences look the same. I want to get better at that and form a routine of writing. I have yet to come up with an idea on how I will do this, but as words have become quite a big part of this blog in the past year, I might keep you posted.
Do More Yoga & Go on Hikes
I am recycling my resolution for 2017 here, as I did not succeed at it yet. But, what I did learn in the past year is that I need to take care of my body and that yoga does help here. So, maybe 2018 will finally be the year in which I will manage to implement a yoga routine into my life, my upper back would be delighted, I guess. And, I want to go on more hikes in those beautiful Swiss mountains.
Keep travelling and exploring
Going places is still one of my favourite things to do. We have not anything planned yet, but I do hope that 2018 will have some exciting trips in store for me. Additionally, I want to explore and get to know Switzerland a little bit better. There are so many great places right around the corner from Zurich, and I still have to see so many of them.
Cook More Recipes from Cookbooks
We had already planned on cooking one cookbook recipe per week this summer but did not manage to stick to it. Maybe the boyfriend and I will be more successful in this endeavour next year. I love cookbooks, and there are many on my wish-list at the moment, but before I buy a new one, I want to start using those that I own first.
Cut down on my Social Media consumption
I have the feeling that this resolution is on everyone’s list this year and I want to keep trying to use the web more consciously. I have it all planned out in this post I wrote a while ago, but find myself with that phone in my hand way too often.
Keep on Blogging
I want to invest more quality time in this blog. I think I have managed to build up quite a good blogging routine and there were weeks in which posted more than three posts. But frankly, this has also been quite exhausting, especially since I do have a day job that is quite time- and energy-consuming. You might have realised that I did not post that much throughout December. I needed a little break, but I will be back in 2018. Promise.
Read at Least as Many Books as This Year
I have read 23 books in 2017, and I want to read even more in 2018. I love reading, and it really helps me to slow down. I believe that it’s also a perfect exercise to develop empathy for others and to learn about life, our society, the world and so much more.
Be more Socially Active
I have been quite a hermit in 2017, and I think I needed that – I started a new job this year, so things were not only pretty exciting in the realm of work, I also got to meet many new people. Consequently, in my free time, all I wanted to do was chill with the boyfriend and the cat. But for 2018 I have to get my ass back off the couch and do more stuff. I want to try and see more of my friends, go to more concerts and visit more exhibitions. That should be doable, right?
So much for my resolutions. What are yours?
