Telegraph Hill, San Francisco

As if we had not walked enough on our first full day in San Francisco, with our stroll through Pacific Heights and the little hike from the Golden Gate to Baker Beach, we did some more walking in the late afternoon / early evening before heading out to dinner and ended up on Telegraph Hill.

We took a bus to the Financial District to visit a store inside a Frank Lloyd Wright building, to walk around a bit and to get some dinner. To be honest, I did not fall in love with the vibe of the Financial District. It just felt like any other commercial center in an larger American city.

Equally underwhelmed, the boyfriend suggested a walk up Telegraph Hill. We walked up steep streets and eventually made it up on the hill. It offered terrific sights of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge in the haze. Walking down Telegraph Hill, we discovered the Greenwich Steps, some steep wooden steps that cut right through a quaint neighborhood with the most beautiful gardens.
