Frank Lloyd Wright’s Walker House, Carmel-by-the-Sea

Another stop on our way to Big Sur was in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Mainly because there is Walker House, a building by Frank Lloyd Wright right by the Pacific Ocean. So, we parked the car and went for a little stroll by the beach.

Despite the grey skies, the water had the most stunning blue hue. There were lots of people on the beach, walking their dogs, or just enjoying the breeze. We also met some other Frank Lloyd Wright aficionados while we climbed around the rocks below the house.

Apart from the beach and the Walker House, we did not see much of the town; it is often named the most quaint place along this part of the coast, but it also felt a bit kitschy and artificial. Also, there were so many more things to see that day – so, on we went…
