About Me

I am Katrin or Ktinka, and I am a collector and curator of places and memories. I mostly gather these memories through photographs I took – but also through dishes I try to recreate at home, or a book or song that reminds me of a place. This is me doing what I love the most:

Since I was young, I loved to travel and explore. After a childhood in the countryside, I have always been fascinated by urban spaces. I love to walk and meander through cities and neighborhoods that are known and unknown to me and to discover the things that make them unique – their streetscapes, cafés, bars, museums, buildings, parks or shops.

I enjoy modernist architecture and design, as well as beautiful accommodations and delicious food. Also, as I grow older, I start to appreciate nature and the countryside. I have always been drawn to the ocean, but the mountains are growing on me; maybe because they are just a stone’s throw away from where we live.

After studying in Leipzig and spending my first proper working years in Berlin, I have been living in Zurich for almost 6 years. Yet, up until now this city and Switzerland did not feature that much in my stories. It is strange how the places we explore the least are those we live in.

I work as a product manager at a media company, but I thrive the most when I am out with my camera exploring. As everyday life catches up with you so quickly, this blog is mainly a way to revisit the places I went to and the memories I made. This might not always happen in chronological order. So, I created a destinations page where you can navigate through my posts by location.

Also, if you have a question or two, do not hesitate to send an e-mail to mail@ktinka.blog or leave a comment under one of my posts. I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

You can also find me on all the common social media platforms, but mostly on Instagram.

I am open to all sorts of collaborations and projects as long as they fit the overall topic of my blog and don’t interfere with the other things I post up here. Also, I always reserve my right to my own opinions.

Head on over here for more information about collaboration possibilities and some traffic insights.
